People’s mindset is that in every company, the boss is always older than their employees. This can actually make sense since getting into the top doesn’t come easily. It takes years to be successful and as years goes by, ages goes up too. But in reality, there are already young successful professionals and sometimes it gets awkward when their age gap to their employees are too far. Here are some tips if you ever encounter a boss that’s younger than you.

  1. Body language

I know how irritating it gets when you’re being taught by a kid but remember, they’re THE BOSS. You are less experienced than them, admit that. Resist rolling your eyes! There will be times when you’re on the right argument, but you need to keep your body language in check.

  1. Be professional

No matter what happens, always keep in mind that you’re still working for them. You’re doing work, PROFESSIONALLY. Don’t let your ego and irritation gets into you. Don’t think of the age gap, just think that you’re working with the same professional as you.

  1. Don’t try to be cool

Well if you’re born naturally cool then good for you, cause it’s absolutely awesome but if not, stop acting like your 24 when you’re 43. You’ll just lead into being unprofessional and silly. Believe me. Maybe this may sound like being ageist, but we all live in reality in which people are expected to mature as they get older.
